This study is driven by the need to develop students’ character of responsibility in schools, which is still not evenly distributed despite the implementation of various programs, including the “Jum’at Bersih” (Clean Friday) activity. This activity not only serves to maintain the cleanliness of the school environment but also aims to instill the value of responsibility through direct experience. However, there are still students who are less participative and inconsistent in demonstrating their sense of responsibility. The focus of this study is to examine students’ character of responsibility, analyze how its internalization occurs through the “Jum’at Bersih” activity, and identify the problems as well as efforts to address them. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation from the principal, teachers, and students selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis is conducted using the Miles and Huberman model and validated through triangulation. The findings of this study indicate that students’ character of responsibility is generally fairly good, but still not evenly distributed. The internalization process occurs through several stages, namely introduction, understanding, implementation, and habituation in the “Jum’at Bersih” activity. The identified problems include low awareness and lack of consistency among some students, while the efforts made include providing guidance, supervision, and continuous habituation. The “Jum’at Bersih” activity has been proven to contribute to the development of students’ character of responsibility, although further efforts are still needed to achieve more optimal and equitable implementation among all students. more optimal results.
