<![CDATA[This study aims to describe the implementation of evaluation in poetry writing learning in Indonesian language subjects at SMP 008 Tarakan. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with an Indonesian language teacher and documentation study of students’ written works. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that poetry writing learning is carried out through three main stages, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation. In the planning stage, the teacher prepares a lesson plan (RPP) that includes materials, methods, media, and assessment rubrics. In the implementation stage, learning is conducted using a combination of lecture and assignment methods, supported by media such as images and internet sources to help students develop ideas. In the evaluation stage, assessment is conducted comprehensively, covering aspects of content, structure, diction, grammar, spelling, and creativity using product-based assessment. The evaluation process also involves correction, feedback, revision, and publication of students’ work through wall magazines. The findings indicate that the evaluation applied has led to authentic assessment, as it does not only focus on final results but also on the learning process and students’ development. However, there are still challenges, such as low student motivation, which affects learning outcomes.]]>
