Abstract

Every success in the learning process will affect environmental factors, schools, attitudes, or students themselves. Each student enhances cognitive, affective, and psychomotor development. Student trading has the uniqueness and character of each in the learning process to respond to and understand teaching material or information obtained. Student learning independence can be seen from the achievements of students in responding, solving, and processing information by completing various tasks. Every student has a learning style that is prominent in him, and the teacher must be able to accommodate it. That is to achieve the learning objectives well and effectively. Learning style is the key to student success in learning. There are models (Type) of learning styles (Fleming, 2001), VARK (Visual, auditory, Reading, Kinesthetic) that can increase student activity in learning Indonesian. Students can learn through the senses that they have with a visual learning style that learns from what is seen, students with an auditory learning style that is learning through what is heard, and a kinesthetic learning style that is learning through motion and opening.

Abstract

AbstrakIndonesia menjadi negara yang multikultural sebagai kekayaan suatu bangsa harus dilestarikan. Salah satu solusi yang dapat ditempuh ialah menanamkan pendidikan yang dapat dilakukan melalui multikultural berbasis kearifan lokal. Pengenalan multikultural  berbasis kearifan diharapkan mampu membangun karakter anak bangsa yang memahami, menerima dan menghargai orang lain yang berbeda suku, adat istiadat, agama, dan nilai kepribadian. Penanaman semangat multikultural di Sekolah Dasar (SD), akan menjadi sarana pelatihan dan penyadaran bagi generasi muda untuk menerima dan menghargai semua perbedaan yang multikultural. Artikel ini ditulis guna memberikan gambaran mengenai pentingnya multikultural dan implikasinya pendidikan multikultural berbasis kearifan lokal bagi siswa SD. Guna memperoleh data tentang konsep multikultural, penulis melakukan kajian kepustakaan dengan teknik analisis data yaitu analisis konten.  Begitu pentingnya pendidikan multikultural maka guru SD harus mendesain proses pembelajaran yang mengintegrasikan pendidikan multikultural berbasis kearifan lokal yang menjadi bagian dari kontribusi positif untuk membina sikap nasionalisme dan sikap multikultural para siswa sejak dini.Kata Kunci: pendidikan multikultural; kearifan lokal; siswa SD.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan platform media sosial untuk pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan metode survei. Empat bagian dalam survei, yaitu: 1) demografi, 2) latar belakang penggunaan platform media sosial, 3) patform yang sering digunakan, dan 4) waktu yang digunakan. Subyek penelitian ini terdiri dari 70 mahasiswa semester II di STIS Muhammadiyah Tarakan. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner dan wawancara, Instrumen penelitian pertanyaan dalam kuesioner yang terdiri dari 21 pertanyaan. Data penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yaitu: reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa platform media sosial yang digunakan mahasiwa di STIS Muhammadiyah Tarakan berupa whatsApp gruop, google classroom, zoom, telegram. Mahasiswa memiliki persepsi respon positif dan respon negatif terhadap penggunaan platform media sosial untuk pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara. Dari keduanya diketahui respon positif lebih banyak dirasakan oleh mahasiswa dari pada respon negatif terkait penggunaan platform media sosial untuk keterampilan berbicara. Abstract

Early childhood and elementary school reading training is essential in forming a literacy foundation for children. This training activity aims to improve children's reading literacy in Tanjung Pasir Tarakan Village, North Kalimantan. The training methods used are demonstration and training. The training activities are designed through creative and interactive activities to stimulate children in reading activities and help them understand their meaning. The stages of this training activity consist of the initial stage, the implementation stage, and the final stage. The initial stage is a form of planning before the reading training is carried out; the implementation stage is the process of reading training activities. Activities include demonstrations and direct practice of reading with media through picture stories, letter recognition, and short stories. The final stage is to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the activities that have been carried out. The results of the implementation of this activity show that the fishermen's children are very enthusiastic about participating in the reading training. Children show a significant increase in interest in reading activities; children can already recognize letters, their vocabulary increases, they can read simple words, and they can already read short stories (for lower-grade children). This training shows the good impact of this reading training program on children's reading abilities. This training is an early milestone for the development of children's literacy.

Abstract

This research examines the implementation and effectiveness of writing learning activities as well as the evaluation system at junior high school 7 Tarakan. By using descriptive-qualitative approach, this study analyzes the methods of teaching writing skills, learning strategies applied by teachers, and evaluation techniques used to measure students' writing ability. Data were obtained through classroom observations, interviews with Indonesian language teachers, and analysis of learning documents. The results showed that collaborative and project-based approaches and writing learning were able to improve students' motivation and writing quality. Meanwhile, the evaluation system that combines formative and summative assessment provides a comprehensive picture of the development of students' writing skills. This study identifies some challenges such as time constraints and the heterogeneity of students' abilities, and provides recommendations for improvement in the form of developing more specific assessment rubrics and utilizing peer feedback to improve the writing learning process at  junior high school 7 Tarakan. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini mengkaji pelaksanaan dan efektifivitas kegiatan pembelajaran menulis serta sistem evaluasinya di SMPN 7 Tarakan. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskritptif-kualitatif, penelitian ini menganalisis metode pengajaran keterampilan menulis, strategi pembelajaran yang di terapkan oleh guru, dan teknik evaluasi yang digunakan untuk mengukur kemampuan menulis siswa. Data diperoleh melalui observasi kelas, wawancara dengan guru Bahasa Indonesia, dan analisis dokumen pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pendekatan kolaboratif dan berbasis proyek dan pembelajaran menulis mampu meningkatkan motivasi dan kualitas tulisan siswa. Sementara itu, sistem evaluasi yang menggabungkan penilaian formatif dan sumantif memberikan gambaran komperhensif terhadap perkembangan kemampuan menulis siswa. Penelitian ini mengedintifikasikan beberapa tantangan seperti keterbatasan waktu dan hotergenitas kemampuan siswa, serta memberikan rekomendasi perbaikan berupa pengembangan rubrik penilaian yang lebih spesifik dan pemanfaatan umpan balik sejawat untuk meningkatkan proses pembelajaran  menulis di SMPN 7 Tarakan.

Abstract

Abstrak: Indonesia menerapkan gerakan literasi sebagai upaya mengatasi rendahnya minat baca anak-anak. Terbatasnya media belajar, sumber belajar, ekonomi keluarga, dan motivasi menyebabkan kurangnya kesadaran anak dalam kegiatan membaca. Keterampilan literasi baca anak-anak menjadi perhatian utama dalam kegiatan ini. Pelaksanaan kegiatan selama 2 hari di desa Karang Rejo, Tarakan, Kalimantan Utara bermula dari observasi di desa tersebut. Pesertanya14 anak kelas rendah (Kelas 1-3 SD). Kegiatan ini berupa pendampingan kegiatan literasi baca yang bertujuan meningkatkan minat baca anak dan agar mudah memeroleh pengetahuan, pemahaman, serta kemampuan kognitif. Akhir kegiatan dievaluasi dengan mengumpulkan data dari setiap aktivitas yang telah berlangsung melalui sesi tanya jawab mengenai bacaan yang diberikan. Selain itu peserta diberikan angket terkait kegiatan literasi ini. Hasil kegiatan ini anak-anak menjadi lebih senang membaca dan dapat memahami bacaan. Tingkat keaktifan anak meningkat menjadi 85% serta anak mampu menjawab pertanyaan dengan baik. Dengan demikian dapat diketahui bahwa kegiatan pendampingan literasi baca ini dapat meningkatkan minat baca anak-anak di desa Karang Rejo kota Tarakan.Abstract: Indonesia implements a literacy movement to overcome children’s low interest in reading. Limited learning media, learning resources, family economy, and motivation cause children to lack awareness of reading activities. Children’s reading literacy skills are the primary concern in this activity. The activity implementation for 2 days in Karang Rejo village, Tarakan, North Kalimantan, began with observations in the town. The participants were 14 lower-grade children (grades 1-3 of elementary school). This activity is in the form of mentoring reading literacy activities that aim to increase children’s interest in reading and to make it easier to obtain knowledge, understanding, and cognitive abilities. The end of the activity is evaluated by collecting data from each activity that has taken place through a question-and-answer session regarding the reading given. In addition, participants are given a questionnaire related to this literacy activity. The results of this activity are that children become happier reading and can understand the reading. Children’s activity increased to 85%, and children could answer questions well. Thus, it can be seen that this reading literacy mentoring activity can improve children’s interest in reading in Karang Rejo village, Tarakan City.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of evaluation in improving the process and results of writing learning in grade VII students of Tarakan 1 Middle School. Evaluation in writing learning not only functions as a measuring tool for learning outcomes, but also as a means to improve the effectiveness of the learning process itself. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of appropriate evaluation, both formative and summative, is able to provide constructive feedback to students and teachers. This feedback plays an important role in improving learning strategies and improving students' writing skills, especially in terms of structure, vocabulary, and writing. Thus, this evaluation has a contribution in creating a more effective writing learning process and more optimal learning outcomes.

Abstract

Pendidikan memiliki peran penting untuk meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia. Pendidikan akan berhasil jika guru dan siswa memiliki potensi yang baik dalam proses belajar dan mengajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pembelajaran berdasarkan perspektif guru dan siswa SMPN 1 Tarakan melalui angket dan wawancara. Metode yang digunakan meliputi wawancara, kuesioner, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa evaluasi pembelajaran yang diterapkan oleh guru memiliki berbagai fungsi, yakni sebagai alat administratif, diagnostik, dan umpan balik. Pembelajaran puisi dinilai menarik serta membantu dari perspektif siswa pengembangan kreativitas dan ekspresi diri. Evaluasi secara berkala dilaksanakan untuk memastikan efektivitas pembelajaran dan peningkatan mutu pendidikan yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Character is a positive trait reflected in a person's daily behavior. It is an essential part of one’s personality and social life, although it is sometimes not systematically integrated into education. Therefore, this research aims: 1) To describe the process of integrating local wisdom-based character education values at Baitul Izzah Nganjuk Islamic Junior High School. This research used a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. There were three research subjects: headmaster of school, teachers and also and seventh grade students at Baitul Izzah Nganjuk Islamic Junior High School. Students were selected using purposive sampling method. Data collection was conducted through in-depth and open-ended interviews, observation, and document analysis. Data analysis was carried out with four steps, namely: collecting data, condensing data, presenting data and finally drawing conclusions. The results of this study show that the process of integrating the value of character education in Language learning used material book. The findings of this study indicate that teachers integrate language learning with materials rooted in local wisdom. Furthermore, throughout the learning process, teachers also model positive behavior that reflects the character values inherent in local wisdom. This integration not only enriches the content of language instruction but also fosters students’ character development by embedding cultural values in everyday classroom practices. As a result, students not only improve their language skills but also internalize important moral and social values grounded in their own cultural heritage. This research is expected to be used as a model and cultural development and also can be used as a reference for other researchers who want to research the value of character education.
