Abstract

This study aims to improve free throw skills in basketball games through ball and ring modifications in fifth grade students of SD Negeri 2 Metro Selatan. This study is a classroom action research (CAR) consisting of 3 cycles. The subjects of this study were fifth grade students of SD Negeri 2 Metro Selatan. The instruments used for data collection in this study were basketball free throw assessment sheets and observation sheets for students. Based on the results of observations, discussions and research results, it can be concluded that ball and ring modifications can improve free throw skills in basketball games in SD Negeri 2 Metro Selatan students. This can be seen in the initial conditions, the number of students who achieved the KKM score of 75 was only 8 students (26.67%), in cycle I it increased to 13 students (43.3%), in cycle II it increased to 20 students (66.7%), and in cycle III it increased again to 26 students (86.7%). So the actions given were declared successful in improving free throw skills.
