Abstract

This study aims to develop a Digital Imaging learning video to improve students’ learning outcomes in the Basic Design Communication Visual subject for Grade XI DKV students at SMK Yapalis Krian. The background of this study is based on the learning process that still uses conventional methods, causing students to experience difficulties in understanding Digital Imaging materials, especially in the use of design tools and image manipulation techniques. This research used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the Lee & Owens development model consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The developed learning video was validated by media experts, material experts, and lesson plan validation. The validation results showed that the lesson plan obtained a score of 83.52%, media expert validation reached 91.1%, material expert validation reached 84.4%, and pretest-posttest instruments obtained 93.34%, all categorized as very valid. The effectiveness test results showed an increase in the average student score from 91.48 in the pretest to 96.11 in the posttest. The Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test result obtained a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores. Therefore, the Digital Imaging learning video developed in this study is considered feasible and effective in improving students’ learning outcomes.
