Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of reconstructionist philosophy of education at SD N 2 Pabuaran. The study departs from the concern that elementary learning is often reduced to the transfer of subject matter, while students face concrete problems such as waste, bullying, discipline, health, nutrition, and environmental care. This qualitative case study used observation, interviews with the principal, classroom teachers, students, and parents, and documentation of school programs. The data were analyzed thematically by connecting field findings with social reconstruction, contextual learning, character education, environmental education, and school-family partnership. The findings are organized into five core points: reconstruction of school direction through leadership and governance, teachers' efforts to turn classroom learning into dialogue and small projects, eco-pedagogical practices through Adiwiyata culture and waste management, child-friendly school culture and restorative discipline, and the transfer of school values into students' home lives through parental involvement. The study shows that reconstructionism in elementary school grows through routine practices such as cleaning the classroom, sorting waste, discussing problems, respecting friends, maintaining plants, and helping parents at home.
