Abstract

This study aims to analyze the improvement of cooperation among elementary school students through the implementation of the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) cooperative learning model in social studies. This study used a systematic literature review (SLR) approach. The data analysis technique employed content analysis, identifying and synthesizing previous research findings. The results indicate that NHT improves student engagement, individual responsibility, mutual assistance, and the quality of social interactions, while fostering self-confidence, communication skills, and character development such as mutual respect and mutual cooperation. Determining factors for success include the teacher's role as a facilitator, the formation of heterogeneous groups, student engagement, and a supportive classroom atmosphere.
