Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between school environmental cleanliness and students' learning comfort and learning concentration at SDN Kraton 3 Bangkalan. This research employed a quantitative correlational approach involving 35 fifth-grade students as respondents using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through an observation sheet to document the school's cleanliness conditions and a Likert scale questionnaire consisting of 14 valid and reliable items after validity and reliability testing. Data analysis was conducted using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and Spearman Rank correlation test. The results showed that school environmental cleanliness had no significant relationship with learning comfort (r = 0.186, p = 0.284) or learning concentration (r = 0.317, p = 0.064). However, a strong and significant relationship was found between learning comfort and learning concentration (r = 0.631, p = 0.000). These findings suggest that learning comfort is a more dominant factor influencing students' concentration than physical cleanliness alone, highlighting the need for schools to create a holistic and conducive learning environment.
