Science and technology are currently developing rapidly and directly or indirectly impacting the field of education. The purpose of this study is to identify the needs for animated learning media for the Curriculum Studies course based on blended learning in the Educational Technology Study Program, Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Makassar that are valid and practical; to develop the design of animated learning media for the Curriculum Studies course based on blended learning that are valid and practical; and to describe the level of validity and practicality of the animated learning media developed for the Curriculum Studies course based on blended learning.The research and development model used in this study is an adaptation of the Sivasailam Thiagarajan development model, which was adjusted by the researcher. This model was considered suitable because it aligns with the stages of research conducted and consists of systematic procedures. The model is appropriate for developing animated learning media because it provides detailed development steps. The stages in this development process include Analysis, Design, and Development.The subjects of this study were media experts or instructional design experts, content or material experts for learning media, sixth-semester students of the Educational Technology Study Program at Universitas Negeri Makassar, and lecturers teaching the Curriculum Studies course. The data collection technique used questionnaires. The data analysis techniques employed were Qualitative Descriptive Analysis and Descriptive Statistical Analysis. Based on the evaluation results from media experts and content/material experts, it can be concluded that the Powtoon animated learning media can be used as teaching material in the learning process for the Curriculum Studies course. The results of individual trials, large group trials, and responses from the lecturers teaching the Curriculum Studies course indicate that the developed Powtoon animated learning media is practical to use as teaching material in the learning process.
