Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of handwashing poster media on the handwashing behavior of children aged 5–6 years at TK Pembina Onan Ganjang. This study uses a quantitative approach with an experimental method through a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The research sample consisted of 20 children aged 5–6 years, selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through observation using a handwashing behavior assessment sheet based on the six handwashing steps according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results of the study showed an improvement in children's handwashing behavior after being treated with poster media. The posttest scores were higher compared to the pretest scores, and the hypothesis test results showed a significance value of < 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that handwashing poster media has a significant influence on the handwashing behavior of children aged 5-6 years at TK Pembina Onan Ganjang.
