Abstract

The rapid development of information technology demands adaptation not only from adolescents as digital natives, but also from parents as digital immigrants in fulfilling their parenting roles. This study aims to analyze the characteristics and patterns of digital behavior among parents of adolescent children. A quantitative approach with a descriptive method was employed, involving 400 parents in Karawang Regency selected through a survey technique. Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive statistics. The findings reveal that parental digital behavior falls within a varied category, with a predominant tendency toward functional technology use. The smartphone emerged as the most dominantly used digital device. The internet and social media are utilized not only for communication purposes, but also for information seeking, the enhancement of parenting literacy, and the support of self-directed learning. This study affirms the critical importance of strengthening digital literacy among parents so that technology utilization can effectively support the supervision of adolescents' digital behavior within the family environment in a wise, safe, and responsible manner.
