Abstract

This study aims to improve the activeness of fourth-grade students of SDN Pisangcandi 1 in Pancasila Education lessons by implementing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) learning model. The lack of student activeness in the Pancasila Education learning process is the reason for conducting this research. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Each cycle includes four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects consisted of 29 students in fourth-grade SDN Pisangcandi 1. Data were obtained through observation sheets, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study showed an increase in student activeness from the pre-cycle by 44% to 66% in cycle I, and again increased to 86% in cycle II. This increase includes aspects of activeness in asking questions, giving opinions, discussing, solving problems, and making presentations. Thus, the Problem-Based Learning model is proven effective in improving student activeness in the Pancasila Education subject of fourth-grade SDN Pisangcandi 1.
