Abstract

This research was conducted to address the low creative thinking skills of third-grade students in science learning on the topic of energy sources at SDN Sukoharjo 4. The problem was caused by teacher-centered learning and the limited use of engaging learning media. The study aimed to develop a printed educational poster based on the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model that is valid, practical, and effective in improving students’ creative thinking skills. The research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, consisting of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The participants were 16 third-grade students. Data were collected through validation sheets, questionnaires, interviews, and creative thinking tests, then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The findings indicated that the developed media achieved a validity score of 94.33% (very valid), a practicality score of 96.87% (very practical), and an effectiveness score of 91.41% (very effective). The educational poster media also improved students’ creative thinking skills, as reflected in increased scores on fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration indicators. Therefore, the PBL-based printed educational poster is suitable for use as an alternative learning medium to enhance creative thinking skills in elementary science learning, particularly on the topic of energy sources.
