Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of strengthening social cohesion and the challenges of digital information flow in a plural society, where Balinese local wisdom values are considered strategic in supporting tolerance. The purpose of this study is to examine in depth the practice of concepts, processes, and implications of religious moderation education at Brahma Vihara Arama Banjar, Banjar Tegeha Village. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological and case study approach to explore the subjective experiences of customary figures, religious leaders, village government, and the local community. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and document studies, while data analysis applied the Miles and Huberman model. The results showed that the concept of religious moderation was implemented through four main pillars, namely Dhamma learning, meditation, yoga, and strengthening compassion. Based on the validation of activities in the field, the value internalization process runs holistically through the exemplary of the bhikkhus, the openness of interfaith interactions, and the physical acculturation of sacred buildings such as Padmasana in the vihara area so that effective education is realized. Thus, religious practices at Brahma Vihara Arama are proven to have significant implications in forming an inclusive character, suppressing fanaticism, triggering interfaith cooperation such as making ogoh-ogoh, and maintaining long-term harmony in Banjar Tegeha Village.
