Abstract

This research is based on the finding that the basic underhand passing skills of volleyball among female students in class X of SMKF Bhakti Kencana Bogor were still not optimal. To address this issue, an alternative that can be applied is the use of a reciprocal teaching style that emphasizes active student involvement through interaction, cooperation, and peer feedback during the learning process. The results showed that the application of the reciprocal teaching style was able to improve the students' underhand passing skills. This was evident from the increase in the average pretest score of 55.41 to 79.44 in the posttest. The normality test obtained a significance value of 0.139 (> 0.05), indicating that the data is normally distributed. Furthermore, the correlation analysis showed a strong relationship between pretest and posttest scores with a correlation coefficient of 0.779. The effect size (Cohen's d) of 2.580 indicates that the treatment had a very large impact on improving students' underhand passing skills. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the application of the reciprocal teaching style has a positive and effective influence on improving the basic underhand passing skills of volleyball in class X female students of SMKF Bhakti Kencana Bogor.
