<![CDATA[The phenomenon of character degradation in elementary school-aged children has become a serious issue in the world of education in recent years. Technological developments, globalization, and weak social environmental supervision have led to the emergence of undisciplined behavior, low responsibility, minimal manners, and a decline in honesty in children's daily lives. Furthermore, collaboration between families, schools, and communities is essential in shaping children's character. This situation presents a major challenge for Madrasah Ibtida'iyah (MI), as an Islamic-based elementary educational institution that not only carries out the task of developing cognitive aspects, but also the formation of students' morals and ethics from an early age. Moral education is a crucial component in shaping a good personality, as it equips students with the ability to understand the values of goodness, distinguish right from wrong, and apply them in life. However, in practice, the implementation of moral education at MI Kholafiyah Syafi'iyah Zainul Hasan Genggong is not optimal. Contributing factors include a lack of environmental role models, minimal integration of moral values in learning, and the negative influence of social media and social interactions. If left unchecked, character degradation will continue to increase and impact future social life. The main problem of this research is how moral education plays a role in preventing character degradation in children, especially in the MI Kholafiyah Syafi'iyah Zainul Hasan Genggong environment. This study aims to analyze the role of moral education as an effort to prevent character degradation and identify strategies that can be applied to strengthen moral values in MI Kholafiyah Syafi'iyah Zainul Hasan Genggong students. Theoretically,the results of this study are expected to enrich the study of moral education in the context of Islamic-based basic education. Practically, this research can be a reference for teachers, schools, and stakeholders to develop effective learning strategies in instilling moral values and preventing character degradation from an early age.]]>
