Abstract

This study systematically synthesizes evidence on transforming Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning in Indonesian elementary schools through deep learning within the Merdeka Curriculum. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with the PRISMA protocol, 28 articles published between 2023 and 2026 were analyzed using thematic synthesis. Four themes emerged: (1) implementation centered on mindful, meaningful, and joyful (MMJ) dimensions through problem-based, project-based, and contextual learning; (2) positive impacts on critical thinking, conceptual understanding, and motivation; (3) challenges in teacher competence, assessment systems, and infrastructure; and (4) theoretical foundations from Ausubel, Langer, and Fullan et al. The study recommends structured teacher training, authentic assessment, and longitudinal research as policy priorities.
