Abstract

This study aims to describe the obstacles faced by Indonesian language teachers at SMP Negeri 10 Kaur in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The subjects of the study were Indonesian language teachers at SMP Negeri 10 Kaur. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results showed that teachers experienced several obstacles in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum, including limited understanding of curriculum concepts, difficulties in preparing teaching modules, limited learning facilities and infrastructure, varying student characteristics, and limited participation in training activities. These obstacles affect the effectiveness of learning implementation. Therefore, support from schools and related institutions is needed to improve teachers' competence in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum.
