Abstract

Mathematics learning at the elementary school level still encounters various challenges, particularly in multiplication material, where students often experience difficulties in understanding abstract concepts. One of the contributing factors is the limited use of instructional media that can visualize mathematical concepts concretely. This study aimed to determine the effect of multiplication board learning media on the mathematics learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SD Inpres Oesapa. The research employed a quantitative approach using an experimental method with a pretest–posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 28 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through achievement tests, classroom observations, and documentation. The research instrument was validated through validity and reliability testing before implementation. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, validity testing, reliability testing, normality testing, and hypothesis testing using SPSS version 25. The findings indicated that the implementation of multiplication board learning media significantly improved students' mathematics learning outcomes. The average pretest score increased from 36.25 to 83.39 in the posttest. Furthermore, students' minimum score improved from 5 to 75 after the treatment. The hypothesis test demonstrated a statistically significant effect of multiplication board learning media on mathematics learning outcomes. These findings indicate that multiplication board learning media provides meaningful learning experiences, facilitates conceptual understanding, increases student participation, and improves learning achievement. Therefore, multiplication board learning media can be recommended as an alternative instructional medium for teaching multiplication concepts in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low mathematics learning outcomes of second-grade students at SD Bertingkat Naikoten, particularly on subtraction material. The problem was caused by the use of conventional teaching methods and the lack of attractive and interactive learning media. One alternative that can be used to overcome this problem is number card media. This study aimed to determine the effect of using number card media on students' mathematics learning outcomes in subtraction material at SD Bertingkat Naikoten. This study employed a quantitative approach using an experimental method with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population consisted of all second-grade students of SD Bertingkat Naikoten, totaling 31 students. The sample comprised 15 students in the experimental class and 16 students in the control class. Data were collected through tests, observations, and documentation. The research instrument consisted of multiple-choice questions administered during the pretest and posttest. Data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing (t-test) with the assistance of SPSS softwareThe results showed that the use of number card media had a positive effect on students' mathematics learning outcomes. This was indicated by the higher posttest mean score of the experimental class compared to the control class. Furthermore, the hypothesis testing results revealed that the significance value was less than 0.05, indicating that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of number card media has a significant effect on mathematics learning outcomes in subtraction material for second-grade students at SD Bertingkat Naikoten.

Abstract

Tae, Metriana (2026) Title: The Influence of Teacher Personality Competence on Student Discipline at GMIT Oesapa Elementary School. Thesis. Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Citra Bangsa University, Kupang. Supervisor I: Heryon Bernard Mbuik, S.PAK., M.Pd., Supervisor II: Alvin Javier Hano, S.Pd., M.Pd.. Teacher personality competence is the ability related to the attitudes, values, and personality possessed by teachers in carrying out their duties as educators, thereby improving student discipline. However, suboptimal teacher personality competence results in low student discipline. Based on the results of pre-observations conducted during the approximately three-month PPL activities, from August 2 to October 28, 2025, at GMIT Oesapa Elementary School, it was found that the level of student discipline still needs to be improved. From the data observed in the fifth grade of GMIT Oesapa Elementary School, there were still some who were late to school, did not complete or were late in submitting assignments, violated school rules such as not wearing complete attributes or talking when the teacher was explaining, and paid less attention during the learning process. These data indicate that the disciplinary behavior of students at the school is still not optimal. This condition can certainly affect the smoothness of the learning process and the achievement of educational goals at school. This study used a quantitative approach with the ex post facto method. The research population was all fifth grade students of GMIT Oesapa Elementary School, totaling 29 people and used as research samples. The data collection technique used a Likert scale questionnaire and data analysis used simple linear regression with the help of SPSS version 25. The results of the study showed that there was a positive and significant influence between teacher personality competence on student discipline with a significance value of 0.039 (<0.05). The regression coefficient value of 0.990 indicates that every increase in teacher personality competence will be followed by an increase in student discipline, while the coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.878 indicates a contribution of 87,8%. It can be concluded that teacher personality competency significantly influences student discipline, thus improving teacher personality competency is necessary to create effective learning.
