Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using smartboard media in improving Indonesian language learning outcomes in reading materials for second-grade students of SD Negeri 040454 Peceren Berastagi. Low reading skills at the elementary school level are often influenced by less interactive learning, which hinders student engagement and understanding. To address this problem, smartboard media is implemented as a learning tool that is able to integrate visual elements, activities, and direct student participation. This study uses a quantitative approach with an experimental method. Data were collected through learning outcome tests given before and after the implementation of smartboard media, then analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results of the study showed a significant increase in learning outcomes after the use of smartboard media. In addition to contributing to improved reading skills, this media also encourages student activity, motivation, and involvement in the learning process. These findings indicate that smartboard media not only functions as a learning aid, but also as a pedagogical strategy that is able to create a more meaningful and student-centered learning experience. Thus, smartboard media is worthy of being an alternative learning innovation to improve the quality of the process and outcomes of Indonesian language learning in elementary schools.
