Abstract

Low learning outcomes in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) on the human respiratory system among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Marga Tabanan were caused by teacher-centered instruction and limited use of visual learning media. This study aimed to improve students' learning outcomes through image media. The research employed Classroom Action Research using the Kemmis and McTaggart model in two cycles involving 13 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through observations, achievement tests, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The average learning score increased from 61.54 in the pre-cycle to 74.15 in Cycle I and 84.00 in Cycle II. Learning mastery improved from 23.08% to 53.85% and reached 100% in Cycle II. The use of image media also increased students' participation during learning. Therefore, image media effectively improved IPAS learning outcomes on the human respiratory system.
