Abstract

The implementation of digital technology in education demands a paradigm shift from conventional methods to more participatory approaches. The primary issue identified in Grade VIII at SMPN 31 Bekasi is the low level of student learning engagement, which is caused by the limitations of engaging instructional media. This study aims to quantitatively measure the effectiveness of utilizing Interactive Flat Panel (IFP) media in improving student learning engagement at the school. This study employs a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically utilizing the pretest-posttest control group design. The research population consists of all Grade VIII students at SMPN 31 Bekasi, with a purposive sampling technique used to select two classes as the experimental and control groups. The independent variable in this study is the use of Interactive Flat Panel (IFP) media, while the dependent variable is the level of student learning engagement. The research instruments include a student engagement observation sheet that has undergone validity and reliability testing, as well as a Likert scale questionnaire distributed to the respondents. The collected data are analyzed using statistical software through the following stages: (1) Analysis prerequisite tests, which include normality and homogeneity tests; and (2) Hypothesis testing using an independent sample t-test to compare the mean engagement scores between the experimental and control groups.
