Abstract

This study aims to describe the creativity of Civic Education teachers in developingcritical and ethical digital literacy among Islamic boarding school students throughscreen-free learning at MTs Darul Hikmah Tulungagung. This qualitative descriptivestudy involved the principal, Civic Education teachers, and students of grades VII–IX. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Thefindings showed that teachers implemented discussion methods, question-answeractivities, case studies, presentations, mind mapping, and jigsaw learningconnected to students’ daily life and current issues. Supporting factors includedschool support, pesantren policies, and conducive learning environments, whileinhibiting factors included limited technology access and varying student abilities.The findings indicate that teacher creativity contributes significantly to strengtheningcritical and ethical digital literacy.
