<![CDATA[The advancement of digital technology has driven changes in the learning process, notably through the use of viewing activities as a learning medium. This study aims to analyze the communication process within learning activities involving viewing, examine the application of communication theories, and determine the effectiveness of viewing activities in fostering learner understanding. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, utilizing a literature review approach that incorporated various analyses of existing literature, relevant prior research, and interviews. The findings indicate that the communication process is facilitated by the quality of video-based materials, which help learners grasp information in a more engaging and accessible manner. The application of communication theories is evident in the use of audiovisual media combined with "active viewing" strategies such as the use of guiding questions, worksheets, pause-and-reflect techniques, and post-viewing discussions to enhance learner engagement and critical thinking skills. Despite challenges regarding limited facilities and internet connectivity, teachers overcome these issues by selecting appropriate, short-duration videos and combining them with lecture and discussion methods. Thus, viewing activities serve as a relevant learning strategy capable of enhancing the quality of the teaching-learning process in the digital era which is in line with the sub-topic of the Learning and learning course.]]>
