<![CDATA[This study is motivated by Indonesia’s multidimensional character crisis and moral decadence, which reflect the failure of a purely cognitive-oriented model of education. The book Mendidik Hati Membentuk Karakter by Suparlan proposes that character building must begin with the healing of the heart (qalb). This study aims to analyze Suparlan’s concept of heart education, the strategies he offers for its implementation, and its relevance from the perspective of contemporary Islamic education. This research is a qualitative library research, using the book Mendidik Hati Membentuk Karakter as the primary data source. Data were collected through documentation techniques involving comprehensive reading and thematic classification, then analyzed using systematic and inductive content analysis. The findings show that, first, Suparlan positions the qalb as the center of human moral consciousness. Second, he constructs four integrated strategies of heart education, namely Tazkiyyah (purification of the heart), Tazyinah (adornment of the heart with faith), Tadabburah (contemplation of the Qur’an), and Tarabbuthah (reinforcement of consistent worship). Third, these strategies show strong relevance to classical Islamic thought, such as al-Ghazali’s concept of soul purification, while also aligning with modern psychological theories of self-regulation and character building.
