Abstract

This study was motivated by the limited research on the use of Chromebooks in Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level, despite the potential of digital technology to improve learning quality and students' ability to construct Subject–Predicate–Object–Adverb (SPOK) sentences. The study aimed to analyze the implementation of Chromebook utilization in Indonesian language learning to optimize students' SPOK sentence construction skills and to identify the challenges and solutions encountered during its implementation. This study employed a qualitative descriptive design. The participants consisted of the principal, the Grade V-B teacher, and 26 Grade V-B students at SD Negeri Joglo Surakarta, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observations, interviews, document analysis, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The findings revealed that the use of Chromebooks through Google Docs, Google Classroom, Google Forms, and Canva enhanced students' learning motivation, classroom participation, and ability to construct SPOK sentences. The main challenges included limited internet connectivity, technical device issues, and differences in students' digital skills. The study concludes that Chromebook utilization positively contributes to the quality of Indonesian language learning. The findings enrich the literature and provide practical recommendations for schools to optimize the integration of digital technology into classroom instruction.
