Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of TikTok social media use on the formation of noble character (akhlakul karimah) among students of Islamic Religious Education. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach using a library research method. Data were collected from books, scientific journals, previous research findings, and relevant Islamic sources discussing social media, TikTok, and moral education. The collected data were analyzed through data reduction, thematic classification, interpretation, and synthesis to explain the relationship between TikTok usage intensity, content characteristics, and students' moral development. The findings indicate that the frequency, duration, and interaction patterns in using TikTok significantly influence students' attitudes and behavior. Excessive exposure to entertainment and lifestyle content may weaken social ethics, communication manners, and appearance-related values, whereas educational and religious content contributes positively to strengthening noble character when consumed critically and selectively. The study concludes that the impact of TikTok depends on users' digital literacy, self-awareness, application of the principle of tabayyun, and guidance from lecturers and families. Therefore, TikTok should be utilized not only as an entertainment platform but also as a medium for Islamic education and character development in the digital era.
