Abstract

The study aims to develop a local wisdom-based storybook integrated with Augmented Reality (AR) technology as a companion teaching material in Indonesian language learning for phase C students (grades 5 and 6). The teaching material contains local wisdom story texts equipped with AR features, audio story podcasts, and interactive Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) questions. This study uses a mixed methods approach with the ADDIE development model (analyze, design, develop, implement, evaluate). The study was conducted in an elementary school in South Sumedang District involving 10 fifth-grade students, one teacher, a material expert, and a media expert as research subjects. Data were collected through interviews, expert validation questionnaires, and student and teacher response questionnaires, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model of qualitative data analysis techniques. The results showed that the developed product received a very feasible assessment from both validators, with a material expert validation score of 97.1% and a media expert validation score of 94.2%. Overall, the integration of local wisdom-based storybooks with AR technology received a positive response and was proven to be able to create a more meaningful, contextual, and interactive Indonesian language learning experience for elementary school students.
