Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the implementation of Problem Based Learning (PBL) oriented Student Worksheets (LKPD) on critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes in ecosystem materials. This study uses a quantitative approach with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research sample amounted to 26 students of class X at MAN 1 Madiun who were selected through cluster sampling techniques. Data was collected through pretest-posttest questions based on critical thinking indicators, then analyzed using descriptive statistics, Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Paired Sample t-Test, and N-Gain analysis. The results of the descriptive analysis showed an increase in the average score of students from 56.92 during the pretest to 86.92 during the posttest. Based on the results of the normality test, the research data was normally distributed so that hypothesis testing was carried out using the Paired Sample t-Test, which showed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), which indicated a significant difference between critical thinking skills and learning outcomes before and after treatment. The results of the N-Gain analysis showed that 14 students were in the high category and 12 students were in the medium category. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of PBL-oriented LKPD has a significant effect on improving critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes in ecosystem materials.
