Abstract

Film as an audiovisual work is not only intended to entertain, but also serves as a tool to convey religious values through stories, dialogues, characters, and visual symbols. The film 172 Days by Hadrah Daeng Ratu depicts a spiritual journey rich in Islamic values, making it worthy of analysis. The purpose of this study is to describe the religious values contained in the film 172 Days. This study uses a qualitative method with a semiotic approach from Roland Barthes. The theory of religious values proposed by Suprapno serves as the basis for the analysis, while the concepts of denotation, connotation, and myth from Roland Barthes are used to unpack the meaning contained in scenes, dialogues, and visual symbols. Data were collected through listening and note-taking techniques, then analyzed using an interactive model developed by Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results revealed 14 items of data on religious values, consisting of four items on worship, three on the spirit of jihad, two on morals and discipline, two on role models, and three on trustworthiness and sincerity.
