Abstract

Hypertension is a condition characterized by an abnormal increase in blood pressure, indicated by systolic and diastolic blood pressure values exceeding 140/90 mmHg. Treatment for patients with hypertension can be carried out through two approaches: pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies. Pharmacological treatment is commonly administered through the use of medications, such as diuretics. Meanwhile, non-pharmacological treatment can be implemented through methods such as combination of Benson relaxation therapy and warm water immersion therapy. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of combining Benson relaxation therapy and warm water immersion therapy in reducing blood pressure among patients with hypertension. This study employed a qualitative descriptive design using a case study approach in the nursing process, which included assessment, diagnosis, intervention/planning, implementation, and evaluation. Based on the evaluation conducted by the researcher on Mrs. N, the final assessment showed that the client's blood pressure had decreased after receiving Benson relaxation therapy and warm water immersion therapy for three consecutive days. Nursing care provided to a patient with hypertension, including Benson relaxation therapy for 3 × 24 hours, was found to reduce the patient's blood pressure and improve quality of life. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the application of combining the Benson relaxation andwarm water immersion therapy is effective in lowering blood pressure.

Abstract

Gastritis is a digestive system disease. Gastritis occurs due to a lack of discipline in managing meal times, eating patterns, and the types of food consumed. This can cause gastritis, even to the point of experiencing gastric ulcers or bleeding in the stomach if chronic gastritis occurs. Therefore, it is very important to provide education through health counseling to transfer information about gastritis. Health literacy in adolescents at an early age will shape the character of knowledge in the future and can disseminate the information that has been obtained. The purpose of this community service is to provide health counseling about gastritis to students of SMPN 5 Masbagik. The method used in community service is leaflet media. To measure the level of knowledge of the students, the community service conducted a pre-test before the health counseling and a post-test after the health counseling. The results of the community service obtained the level of knowledge before being given health counseling about gastritis was mostly at the level of poor knowledge as many as 22 people (67%) and after the health counseling as many as 23 people (70%) with a good level of knowledge. It is hoped that junior high school students or teenagers will pay attention to their eating patterns, the types of food they consume, especially breakfast, and avoid types of food that can trigger an increase in stomach acid. If they experience gastritis, it will interfere with their concentration in studying.
