Abstract

This comprehensive study aims to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of utilizing Lumi Education platform-based learning media on the active participation of 7th-grade students in Computational Thinking at SMA Kristen Tunas Gloria Kupang. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design (One Group Pretest-Posttest Design) was implemented in this research. Sample selection used a purposive sampling technique involving 20 students from class X B as the intervention group. Primary data collection was conducted thoroughly through a combination of structured questionnaires, systematic participation observation sheets, and in-depth interviews with subject teachers and student representatives. Inferential statistical data processing utilized the non-parametric Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test because the initial pretest data distribution was non-normal based on the Shapiro-Wilk test (p = 0.033). Descriptive evaluation results demonstrated a significant increase in student participation, where the initial average percentage (pretest) of 72.07% (high category) rose sharply to 81.38% (very high category) in the posttest phase, with an average score increase of 5.59 points. The Wilcoxon significance test yielded an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.002 (< 0.05), indicating the rejection of H0 and acceptance of Ha. These empirical findings scientifically prove that the utilization of Lumi Education interactive media contributes significantly to optimizing student involvement and active participation in Computational Thinking lessons.
