<![CDATA[The creation of teaching modules for the Independent Curriculum is crucial for teachers when designing learning. This study measures the extent of the competence of chemistry teachers at SMA Negeri 8 Samarinda in designing teaching modules that are in accordance with the principles of the Independent Curriculum. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with the following stages: (1) conducting a literature review (2) compiling an analysis rubric (3) collecting teaching modules (4) conducting a review and assessment of the teaching modules (5) processing data from each teaching module assessment (6) analyzing the data descriptively (7) and drawing conclusions. Data obtained through the Independent Curriculum teaching module assessment instrument were analyzed using a descriptive quantitative method. The results show that the average teacher competency score in preparing the module reached 85, which is included in the good category. However, there are 3 components of the teaching module that are still in the sufficient category, namely: Learning Scenarios, Learning Assessment Design, and Attachments. There are also 2 components of the teaching module that are still in the less category, namely: Remedial Learning and Enrichment Learning. So, it can be concluded that regular training and mentoring are still very much needed to improve the quality of the teaching modules that are prepared, even though the current teacher competency is already in the good category.]]>
