This study aims to analyze the intercultural communication methods found in the lyrics and video clip of the song Mangu by Fourtwnty ft. Charita Utami using John Fiske's semiotic analysis. The song "Mangu" was chosen because it tells the story of a relationship between two people with different beliefs, which creates conflict and confusion within them, and conveys various cultural meanings through words and actions. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach and collected data by recording the song's lyrics and scenes in the video clip on YouTube. The analysis was conducted based on John Fiske's three levels of understanding: the level of reality, the level of representation, and the level of ideology. The results show that at the level of reality, intercultural communication is visible through facial expressions, hand gestures, clothing, the setting, and the use of language in the lyrics, which demonstrates the problems arising from differences in beliefs. In terms of representation, the use of cinematographic techniques, image composition, lighting, color, and the harmony of the lyrics with the visuals reinforce the meaning of inner conflict, loss, and the difficulty of reconciling cultural differences. Meanwhile, at the ideological level, there are depictions of pluralism, tolerance, humanitarian values, and respect for diversity, demonstrating that cultural and belief differences can be challenging in human relationships but must be faced with mutual respect. This research is expected to contribute to the study of media semiotics, particularly in understanding how intercultural communication is conveyed through music and video clips as forms of mass communication.
