Abstract

This article analyzes the concept of monotheism in Surah Al-Ikhlas in the Tafsir Juz ’Amma by Ustadz Firanda Andirja, Lc., M.A. This research not only examines the results of his interpretation, but also traces the continuity and changes in Firanda's thinking with classical commentators. The research uses a qualitative method based on literature study with Walid Saleh's genealogical theory approach to identify the epistemological origins, scientific traditions, and ideological tendencies that shape his interpretation. The results show that, first, Firanda interprets monotheism as a combination of tanzih (purification of Allah from all forms of polytheism) and itsbat (establishment of the oneness of Allah in all aspects of divinity). Second, genealogically, his interpretation has continuity with the Tafsir AlQurthubi, Tafsir At-Thabari, and Tafsir As-Sam'ani. Third, this interpretation is textual-theological, rooted in contemporary Salafi tradition, and serves as an instrument for purifying faith in the context ofIndonesian Muslim society. This research demonstrates that Firanda's interpretation not only represents continuity with classical interpretations but also demonstrates its transformation in the contemporary Salafi context in Indonesia.
