Abstract

The self-regulation skills of children aged 5–6 years at PAUD Al-Jamaal Karawang Timur were still low, as reflected in impatience, difficulty following rules, and impulsive behavior. This study aimed to improve children’s self-regulation through the implementation of a sharia-based market day activity. The study used a Classroom Action Research design conducted in two cycles, consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The participants where 15 children in Group B. Data were collected through observation and documentation and analyzed descriptively using a quantitative approach. The results showed that children’s self-regulation improved from 14% in the initial condition to 60% in Cycle I and 87% in Cycle II. Therefore, the sharia-based market day activity was effective in improving children’s self-regulation and can be used as a contextual learning strategy to support early childhood social-emotional development.
