Abstract

This study aims to model the dynamic interaction between Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) and environmental conditions in Palangka Raya using a system of differential equations. The proposed model incorporates logistic growth of GRDP influenced by environmental factors, while the environmental variable is affected by climate components such as rainfall, number of rainy days, and solar radiation. Model parameters are estimated using a data fitting approach by minimizing the sum of squared errors between observed data and simulation results. Numerical simulations are carried out using a fourth-order Runge–Kutta method implemented in Python. The estimated parameters are consistent with the model assumptions and provide meaningful interpretations from both economic and environmental perspectives. Stability analysis indicates that the system possesses a non-trivial equilibrium point that is asymptotically stable. Simulation results show that GRDP grows rapidly in the early stage and gradually approaches a stable equilibrium value, while the environmental variable converges to a steady state. The equilibrium level of GRDP can exceed its baseline capacity, indicating that environmental factors contribute to enhancing the effective economic capacity. Overall, the model is able to capture the long-term behavior of the economic–environmental system and provides insights into the role of environmental factors in regional economic growth.
