<![CDATA[This study aims to analyze the role of the Tulung Selapan Ilir Village Government, Tulung Selapan District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency in increasing community participation in the development of village road infrastructure in 2024 and identify supporting and inhibiting factors. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, documentation, and distribution of questionnaires to 50 respondents as supporting data. Data analysis uses the theory of the role of village government which includes facilitators, mediators, motivators, and regulators as well as the theory of community participation according to Marshall (2006) which includes the existence of a forum to accommodate community participation, the ability of the community to be involved in the process, and the provision of access for the community to express opinions in the decision-making process. The results of the study indicate that the Tulung Selapan Ilir Village Government has carried out its role well by providing a deliberation forum, building communication and coordination, providing motivation to the community, and implementing development based on the results of deliberations and agreed planning. Community participation is also classified as good, indicated by community involvement in the deliberation forum, participation in the development process according to ability, and the opportunity to express aspirations in decision-making. The interview results were reinforced by the questionnaire results, which showed that the majority of respondents gave a positive assessment of the role of the village government. Supporting factors included the community's need for adequate road access, good communication, budget availability, and perceived community benefits from the development. Inhibiting factors included the busyness of some community members, differences of opinion during deliberations, and limited community involvement during the development implementation phase. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the role of the village government and community participation are mutually supportive in achieving the success of village road infrastructure development in 2024.]]>
