Abstract

Responsiveness character is a psychological, moral, or ethical trait that is inherent in an individual and distinguishes him or her from others. It involves being quick to respond and respond to others with responsibility and an effort to understand deeply,and maintain harmonious interactions. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the meaning of "Raising Awareness of Tolerance through CharacterResponsiveness based on James 1:19-20 in Christian Education in Indonesia." . The research method used is the literature study method, which involves collecting and analyzing relevant information based on the title under study. . The results show that the teachings of James 1:19 provide strong guidelines in the development of responsive attitudes. This teaching emphasizes the importance of listening carefully before speaking, speaking wisely, and being able to control anger. In the context of religious pluralism in Indonesia, responsive character becomes the moral basis for individuals in facing challenges and maintaining religious harmony. This research also highlights the contribution of responsiveness in strengthening tolerance among religious communities.  It is hoped that this research can make a positive contribution in the effort to build a society that is tolerant, respectful, and upholds religious diversity.Karakter sikap responsif adalah sifat kejiwaan, akhlak, atau budi pekerti yang melekat pada individu dan membedakannya dari yang lain, melibatkan sikap cepat memberi respon dan tanggapan terhadap orang lain dengan tanggung jawab dan upaya untuk memahami secara mendalam dan menjaga interaksi yang harmonis.  Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis bagaimana makna “Meningkatkan Kesadaran Toleransi Melalui Karakter Sikap Responsif  berdasarkan Yakobus 1:19 dalam Pendidikan Agama Kristen di Indonesia.” Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode studi pustaka, yang melibatkan pengumpulan dan analisis informasi yang relevan berdasarkan judul yang diteliti. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ajaran Yakobus 1:19 memberikan pedoman yang kuat dalam pengembangan karakter sikap responsif. Ajaran ini menekankan pentingnya mendengarkan dengan cermat sebelum berbicara, berbicara dengan bijaksana, dan dapat mengendalikan amarah. Dalam konteks toleransi agama di Indonesia, karakter sikap responsif menjadi dasar moral bagi individu dalam menghadapi tantangan dan mempertahankan kerukunan agama. Penelitian ini juga menyoroti kontribusi karakter sikap responsif dalam memperkuat toleransi antar umat beragama.
