Abstract

Broccoli is a horticultural plant widely cultivated by farmers in Indonesia. Broccoli is a plant that have great demand by the Indonesian people. Efforts that can be made to meet market needs are by forming new superior varieties and introducing new varieties that are resistant and have high yields. This research studying and evaluating seed formation ability using the bolting technique on several introduced broccoli lines and superior broccoli varieties. Research conducted from July to September 2024 in Sumber Brantas Village, Batu City, Malang, East Java. The study used a randomized block design. This study consisted of 8 treatments with 6 introduced broccoli lines and 2 superior varieties with 3 replications. Based on the results of the analysis of variance, 15 of the 17 observation variables showed significantly different results. BB101, BB102, and BB103 have more potential advantages than other lines. The ability to form seeds in lines BB101, BB102, BB103, BB104, BB105, Green Magic has an average of 64,44%. BB106 and Lucky cannot form seeds. BB101, BB102, and BB103 lines have more potential advantages compared to other lines. Adaptation tests need to be carried out to determine the ability of seed formation using the bolting technique on each line, especially on the BB106 line in places with different environments.
