<![CDATA[This study analyzes the urgency, implementation, and challenges of integrating Islamic economics into the Islamic Religious Education (IRE) curriculum in Indonesia using a qualitative library research approach. Data were collected from journal articles, academic books, and official reports, and analyzed through thematic synthesis. The findings reveal that integrating Islamic economics into the IRE curriculum is urgent to improve Islamic financial literacy among the younger generation and support Indonesia's vision as a global Islamic economic hub. Implementation can be achieved through practical programs such as school zakat initiatives, Islamic cooperatives, muamalah contract simulations, Islamic market days, and field visits to Islamic financial institutions. However, several challenges persist, including limited teacher competence, lack of contextual teaching modules, and inadequate infrastructure. To address these obstacles, policy reinforcement, teacher training, and partnerships between schools and Islamic financial institutions are essential. This integration is expected to produce a generation that is not only literate in Islamic finance but also possesses Islamic character and is ready to contribute to national economic development. The study contributes a comprehensive conceptual framework for positioning Islamic economics as an integral component of Islamic education, bridging religious values with contemporary economic realities in the Indonesian educational context.
