Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of directive speech acts and persuasive communication strategies in Hanan Attaki’s da’wah content on social media. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The research data consisted of directive utterances in da’wah content on the @kata_uha   account, which is integrated with Hanan Attaki’s official Instagram account. Data collection was carried out using listening and note-taking techniques, while data analysis utilized the interactive Miles and Huberman model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results revealed six types of directive speech acts: inviting, suggesting, advising, requesting, commanding, and prohibiting. Advising was the most dominant form. Persuasive strategies are manifested through reflective questions, simple language, exemplary narratives, reframing experiences, inclusive language, and emotional and spiritual approaches. The findings indicate that directive speech acts support the effectiveness of da’wah communication in building the audience’s religious awareness
