Abstract

This study aims to analyze the educational institutions of the Fatimid Dynasty (909–1171 AD), including their institutional forms, curriculum, learning methods, and contributions to the development of Islamic civilization. The research employed a qualitative library research approach using data collected from relevant books and scholarly journal articles. The data were analyzed through descriptive qualitative methods. The findings indicate that the Fatimid Dynasty developed a well-organized educational system through institutions such as Al-Azhar, Dar al-Hikmah, Majalis al-Hikmah, the caliphal palace, and royal libraries. The curriculum integrated religious and rational sciences, while learning activities were conducted through halaqah, munazharah, research, and scholarly discussions. This educational system transformed Cairo into a major center of knowledge in the Islamic world and produced a lasting educational legacy, particularly through Al-Azhar University, which remains one of the world's leading Islamic educational institutions.
