Abstract

Digital business transformation requires organizations to rely on a well-functioning management information system (MIS) as the backbone of decision-making and operational integration. However, many MIS implementations fail to deliver the expected benefits because organizational, technological, and human factors remain unresolved. This study analyzes the factors influencing the success of MIS implementation in supporting digital business transformation through a systematic literature review of scholarly publications from 2015 to 2025. Data were analyzed using thematic content analysis guided by the DeLone and McLean IS Success Model and the Technology-Organization-Environment framework. The results show that top management support, user involvement, system and information quality, organizational culture, IT infrastructure readiness, and employee digital competence are six dominant factors determining implementation success. Organizations are advised to align change-management strategies with these factors before undertaking digital transformation.
