Abstract

Waste management remains one of the environmental issues faced by communities in Indonesia, including those in Ranjeng Village, Ciruas District, Serang Regency. Low public awareness regarding waste management, along with the large amount of inorganic waste disposed of improperly, has become a major factor contributing to waste accumulation in the surrounding environment. This condition has worsened due to the lack of adequate waste disposal facilities, which may lead to environmental pollution and various public health problems. As an effort to address these issues, the Community Service Program (KKM) Group 24 students of Universitas Bina Bangsa initiated the Rocket Stove program as an educational medium for promoting the utilization of waste as fuel. This program aims to help reduce waste accumulation within the community while also minimizing air pollution, as Rocket Stove produces lower smoke emissions compared to conventional burning methods. The program was implemented through several stages, including socialization, planning, stove construction, and community education regarding its use and benefits as a more environmentally friendly combustion method. The Rocket Stove was constructed using materials that are easily obtained from the surrounding environment and served as a learning tool for introducing the utilization of waste as a fuel source. The results of the program indicated an increase in community understanding regarding the operation and benefits of this technology as an effort to reduce waste accumulation and control air pollution. This program is expected to encourage greater public awareness of environmental cleanliness and support the creation of a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment in Ranjeng Village.
