Abstract

This study aims to develop an interactive ethnocomputing multimedia program integrated with the Tirta Amerta Sari story to enhance the computational thinking skills of elementary school students. The background of this study is based on the importance of developing computational thinking skills from an early age, as well as the need for contextual and engaging learning media. This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects were 28 fifth-grade students at SDN 1 Lawang. The instruments used included an expert validation sheet, a computational thinking test in the form of image matching and descriptive tasks, and a student response questionnaire. The results showed that the developed interactive multimedia was rated as “highly suitable” based on expert validation of the multimedia, language, and content. The pilot test results showed an improvement in students’ computational thinking skills, with the average pretest score of 58.21 increasing to 82.14 on the posttest, and an N-Gain value of 0.57 in the moderate category. The t-test results showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest (Sig. < 0.05). Thus, interactive ethnocomputing multimedia integrated with historical narratives is effective in improving the computational thinking skills of elementary school students. Keywords: Educational Multimedia, Ethnocomputing, Computational Thinking, Local Wisdom
