The importance of performing genital organ care is not yet fully realized by adolescents due to the lack of information about feminine hygiene. The appropriate role of mothers in educating and modeling good behavior will help in increasing their children's knowledge about genital organ care during menstruation. From the results of a preliminary study conducted on 10 female students, it was found that 70% of female students did not understand how to care for their genital organs and 50% were not told by their mothers how to care for their genital organs properly. This study aims to determine the relationship between the role of mothers and genital organ care behavior during menstruation in female students of SMPN 7 Jember. The design of this study is a correlational study with a cross-sectional approach. The population of this study was all 462 female students of SMPN 7 Jember, a sample of 83 respondents, obtained by simple random sampling technique. The results of the study showed a p value (0.00) (<0.05) so H0 was rejected, which means there is a relationship between the role of mothers and genital care behavior during menstruation in female students at SMPN 7 Jember with a correlation coefficient value of 0.604, which means a strong category relationship. The more the mother's role in providing good information and education, the better the behavior of genital care during menstruation in her adolescent daughter. It can be concluded that there is a strong relaltionship between the role of mothers and genital care behavior during menstruation. It is recommended for adolescents to build communication with their mothers about how to care for genital organs during menstruation, the information provided by mothers about menstruation can increase children's knowledge.
