Abstract

This study examines the urgency of energy security in strengthening national stability in the global era. It contributes to the literature by integrating Energy Security Theory, the Energy Trilemma Framework, and Non-Traditional Security Theory to explain the relationship between energy security and national stability. Using a narrative literature review, the study analyzed 22 relevant publications and official reports published between 2020 and 2026 from journals, books, and institutions such as the International Energy Agency (IEA), Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, and the National Energy Council. The findings indicate that strengthening energy diversification, renewable energy development, energy efficiency, and governance enhances national resilience and supports sustainable economic and social stability amid global geopolitical and energy challenges.
