Abstract

Students’ limited grasp of Islamic work ethic underscores the necessity of instructional approaches that are more participatory and stimulating within Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This study investigates the utilization of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) strategy incorporating Pear Deck to foster comprehension of Islamic work ethics among Grade XI learners at SMK Tamansiswa Purwokerto. The investigation adopted a qualitative field-based methodology, with evidence gathered through direct observation, interviews, and documentary records. Data interpretation followed the Miles and Huberman interactive framework, comprising data condensation, data visualization, and verification of conclusions. The findings reveal that the learning sequence encompassed exposition of the subject matter, team assignment, peer deliberation, instructional games, tournament sessions, and assessment. The approach generated a classroom climate that was more participatory, dialogic, cooperative, and engaging, while reinforcing students’ appreciation of ethical work principles, including discipline, accountability, perseverance, integrity, and mutual cooperation. Accordingly, TGT integrated with Pear Deck demonstrates potential as an instructional innovation for deepening students’ comprehension of Islamic work ethics in PAI instruction.   Keywords: Teams Games Tournament, Pear Deck, Islamic work ethic, Islamic Religious Education
