Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between hope and quarter life crisis in students of the University of Muhammadiyah Gorontalo. A quarter life crisis is understood as a transition period from adolescence to early adulthood characterized by worry, anxiety, and confusion about the direction of life, while hope is a cognitive and emotional process that involves an individual's ability to set goals, design strategies, and maintain motivation for his or her achievements. Using a correlational quantitative approach, this study involved 317 active students who were selected through accidental sampling techniques. The research instruments used are the quarter life crisis scale and the hope scale which have been tested for validity and reliability. Based on data analysis using the Spearman Rank correlation test through SPSS version 26, a significance value (p) = 0.000 (p < 0.05) was found, which showed a significant negative relationship between hope and quarter life crisis. These results conclude that the higher the level of hope that students have, the lower the level of quarter life crisis they experience.
